April 20 - COA Process & Historic Home Repair

Historic properties have unique charm, craftsmanship and a special process to renovate them. Both residential and commercial renovations within Historic Districts of Jacksonville require a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA) from the City of Jacksonville. During our Historic Preservation Workshop, learn from COJ staff about that process, what requires a COA and what does not, and how to be most efficient with your time when it comes to renovating a historic property.
You will also learn from Southern Bros. Inspections about the "Top 5 Defects Found in Historic Homes." From foundations to roofs and decades of system renovations, historic properties can be hard to understand. Mark Riccaboni of Southern Brothers Inspections will identify and discuss the five most common issues found during inspections of historic district properties and what to do about them. If you're planning to renovate your home, you don't want to miss this workshop!
All workshops are free. Attendance is capped at 20, so registration is requested. You can register for the event on this page.
Thank you to Southern Brothers Inspections for sponsoring these informative and necessary learning opportunities!
