New Candidates

 Kenny Logsdon

Kenny moved to Jacksonville for the first time in late 1989. He helped to build houses, then began doing audio/visual work for Images (now PRI). Assisting with a presentation for the Downtown Development Authority ignited his interest in city planning. He returned to his hometown of Louisville to get his degree, then came back to Jacksonville in 1999 to join the City’s Planning and Development Department.

Besides Zoning and Land Use duties, Kenny was assigned to work with SPAR at the roundtable meetings with various city departments; JSO, JFDR, and the neighborhood stakeholders. Seeing the passion, dedication, and drive of the Springfield pioneers made him see that this is a neighborhood that will succeed, grow, and be the envy of the South. Kenny and his incredible kid Harlow Jewel have lived in Springfield for the past 16 years and finally purchased a ‘turn of the century’ home (2006) in 2015. If you recognize his voice, Kenny has announced every 4th of July Throwback Baseball Game.

As a City Planner, another one of the programs Kenny fostered was the Town Center Initiative Program, which improved aged commercial areas in neighborhoods such as Stockton Street and the Shoppes of Avondale. There is an influx of investors from outside of Jax that do not know the heart of this neighborhood and there are still a lot of Jaxons that do not know the Springfield of today!

Springfield still has work to do and he looks forward to bringing that experience, along with his love of Springfield, to the SPAR Board.

 Rachelle Miller

Rachelle Miller, a dedicated neighbor and owner of Hashtag Realty Group, passionate about Historic Springfield and eager to contribute as a board member with SPAR (Springfield Preservation and Revitalization). I've been an integral part of this community since 2018, deeply involved in SAMBA (Springfield Area Merchants and Business Association) for three years.

As a seasoned real estate professional and a mother of five, I've witnessed the transformative impact a thriving community can have on families. My decision to apply for a SPAR board seat is fueled by a desire to actively contribute to the preservation and enhancement of Springfield's unique character.

I believe my blend of real estate expertise and personal commitment to this neighborhood uniquely qualifies me to serve on the board. I'm not just seeking a seat; I'm eager to be a hands-on force for
positive change in the community I proudly call home.

A fun fact about me is that I have played in the World Series for girls’ softball and my team came 16th in the nation.
