Join us as we commemorate the original location of the Jacksonville Zoo with the installation of Melissa Russell's "Giraffe" sculpture, Jacksonville's first crowd-funded public art. This acquisition was possible thanks to dozens of individual donors and a matching grant from SPAR. The Jacksonville Zoo will join us for family friendly activities and the Jacksonville Historical Society will share history of the site. Zoo themed snacks and entertainment provided, and the winner of our "Name Springfield's Giraffe" contest will be revealed. Landscaping plans for this section of the park will be announced at the event as well. Join the event page here.
