As a nonprofit, we run on volunteers. We have a variety of volunteer opportunities and our volunteers can choose their own time commitment. Complete the information below to start making a positive difference in the Springfield community!

Our current needs:

1. Drew Residence Landscaping: We need volunteer support with landscaping the Drew Residence (245 W 3rd). While we work to fundraise the restoration of the property, we want to ensure the yard and park strip are well kept. If you are available to support landscaping (especially mowing, weed whacking, pruning, or edging), please email [email protected] to volunteer.
   
   
2. Creating Family Friendly Park Activities: Last year we began including a QR code on SPAR-sponsored public artwork in Springfield. Right now that QR code links to a webpage with information about native flora and fauna. Our hope is to eventually add 5-7 family friendly activities that adults can use with their children to encourage interactive play in our parks. If you have experience in education, play-based learning, or similar areas and can help us design 5-7 family friendly activities to encourage families to play in Klutho and Springfield Parks, please email [email protected] to volunteer.
   
   
3. Community Cleanups: We need volunteers to help us beautify the neighborhood. We host community cleanups at least once per month where volunteers pickup trash and remove litter from different parts of Springfield. See our 2026 Community Cleanup Calendar for more information.
