We're excited to partner with Florida State College of Jacksonville (FSCJ) on a photographic and historical study of the Springfield Historic District!
FSCJ students will choose sixty properties in the Southwest quadrant of our neighborhood to research and document. Data will be gathered on the current condition of the property, how it's changed since the original 1985 Historic District survey commissioned by SPAR, and an extensive history of each structure will be documented. The information collected by FSCJ students will be used to apply for grants and other resources, and will also be available to the public. The Springfield Improvement Association and Archives will also lend their assistance to FSCJ students during their research. For more information, contact the SPAR office.
