Navigating the COA Process, featuring the City of Jacksonville Historic Preservation Section
PAST Forward Historic Preservation Summer Series,
Presented by The Historic Collective at Compass
Join us on Wednesday, August 19 at 6:00 PM for the final installment of our PAST Forward Summer Preservation Series, Presented by The Historic Collective at Compass - Navigating the COA Process, featuring speakers from the City of Jacksonville Historic Preservation Section.
From foundations to roofs and decades of system renovations, historic properties can be hard to understand, leaving many historic home- and business-owners with questions about how best to complete necessary renovations while still maintaining their property's historic charm and adhering to historic district guidelines. Both residential and commercial renovations within Historic Districts of Jacksonville require a Certificate of Appropriateness (COA). In this workshop, representatives from the City of Jacksonville's Historic Preservation Section will discuss the process for obtaining a COA and walk you through the application steps, including what requires a COA and what does not, and how to be most efficient with your time when it comes to renovating a historic property.
Admission to this workshop is free, but attendance is capped at 20 guests. Registration is requested below.
