In the Fall of 2012, LISC and Operation New Hope began the EPIC initiative by engaging our community over several months to form a Quality-of-Life Plan for the Historic Springfield and Eastside neighborhoods. Challenges were discussed, opportunities were identified, and pledges were made to pursue quality-of-life improvements.
We are pleased to announce that Springfield Preservation and Revitalization (SPAR), Springfield Area Merchants and Business Association (SAMBA), and Sustainable Springfield have received a total commitment of $15,000 from Wells Fargo as part of EPIC’s Early Action Grants. The grants will go towards priorities identified in the Quality-of-Life Plan, including providing custom bicycle racks, new banners along Historic Springfield’s commercial corridors, and continued funding for successful public safety programs.
Wells Fargo, LISC, and Operation New Hope continue to provide support for our community improvement efforts, and we look forward to participating in the next phase of EPIC.
