Residential Revival Project

$775.00 raised
GOAL: $500.00

We're excited to announce our Residential Revival Project presented by Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty!

Our 2018 beneficiary, Raymond Thomas, is a disabled veteran who has lived in the community with his wife, Debra, for 25 years; and they raised their children in their home at 245 W 6th Street.
In 2017, SPAR worked with a senior resident to complete a small scale exterior renovation that included necessary maintenance and repair due to the age of the home. With $1000 for materials and the help of donations and volunteer work, SPAR was able to do the equivalent of $8000 worth of repairs. Because of the success and continued need in the neighborhood for similar projects, SPAR will continue the program to assist a minimum of one low to moderate income resident each year with the costs of exterior maintenance and restoration of their historic homes.
Our work weekend with volunteers will be held on September 21st and 22nd, there will be 2 shifts per day, and sign-up for volunteering will be available soon.
If you would like to contribute financially to the Residential Revival Project, your donation will have a lasting impact on the community. (Any excess funds will go towards future Residential Revival Projects)

We are working on partnerships with Jacksonville businesses to preserve and revitalize this historic home in the neighborhood. If your business is interested in contributing through donation of materials, trade work, or volunteer hours, please email

Made possible by generous support from Coldwell Banker Vanguard Realty and Local Initiative Support Corp. (LISC)

Off-Duty Officer Fund - Single Donation

The Off-Duty Officer Fund pays for additional police patrol coverage in our neighborhood during certain times of year when criminal activity in Jacksonville usually trends upward, such as summers and holidays. We also have the ability to direct our off-duty officers to target specific concerns or locations reported by residents, if needed. This service is in addition to the regular police patrol coverage in our area. The Off-Duty Officer Fund is 100% funded by neighbors and community partners. Questions? Let us know. Thank you for donating below!

Residents may also wish to attend monthly Sheriffs Watch meetings, where they meet with local law enforcement to discuss any concerns, ask questions and share information.  Our area's Sheriff Watch meetings are the third Tuesday of the each month, 6pm, on the second floor of the Robert F Kennedy Community Center (1133 Ionia Street).

I am interested in hearing about volunteer opportunities. I work in the technology field and would be more than happy to help with technology needs, but would like to hear about opportunities in all categories.

Thank you,
