The City of Jacksonville is conducting a street sweeping pilot program in the Southwest quadrant (South of 8th, West of Main) of the Springfield Historic District.
Currently, the city does not notify residents when and where they street sweep. Because Springfield's infrastructure is older, fragile and thus more apt to drain poorly, residents requested notification from COJ prior to street sweepers coming through the neighborhood, so vehicles and other obstructions can be moved off street allowing more debris to be collected.
Although not an ideal solution, COJ agreed to notify SPAR prior to street sweepers coming through the Southwest quadrant of the neighborhood, as a pilot program. SPAR will do it's best to notify residents via email and social media - it's a start!
On Wednesday, February 3rd, street sweepers will clean the NORTH and EAST sides of the road (red on map). Please remove all vehicles and other obstructions from the street.
On Friday, February 5th, street sweepers will clean the SOUTH and WEST sides of the road (blue on map). Please remove all vehicles and other obstructions from the street.
Future Dates in 2020:
April 7th-9th
