Parks Committee

The Springfield historic district is blessed with an abundance of parks, most noteably the "Emerald Necklace" park system designed by famed early 20th century architect Henry Klutho. This park system follows Hogans Creek and helps create the southwest border of our neighborhood. Other parks in our community include Confederate Park, Liberty Park, and our popular Dog Park - free. Amenities in these parks include basketball and tennis courts, baseball field, duck pond, bandstand, and playgrounds. We even have our own Disc Golf course, designed and installed by residents. We see our public green spaces as places worthy of a picnic or stroll, festival or sporting event, and are working to see them flourish.
