For 36 years, the Springfield historic district has been showing off it’s unique character, architecture, and walkability through home tours. Once ground zero for Jacksonville's  poverty and blight, it’s now in the midst of a generational transformation, literally rising from the ashes to become a popular neighborhood for those seeking an eclectic, diverse, and semi-urban lifestyle. The 2014 edition of the tour highlights this transformation by touting a "renovation" theme, featuring all original, historic homes & buildings in various stages of being renovated into fantastic homes and venues. You'll see Before & Afters, have a chance to vote on a new green restoration, and admire meticulously restored architectural features. There are 8 venues on this years Tour.

 

A guided Bike Tour edition is offered as well, which includes all of the stops on the Home Tour along with an extended tour of the historic district, showcasing it's notable figures, structures, and events in history.
