Historic Springfield – The Place to Live

Many visitors come to Springfield to see hour historic homes, and we are glad to have them. That’s initially why we came, too. But we chose to live here because of the community. Move to Springfield, and you’ll experience a sense of community that’s unlike any other place in Jacksonville, maybe even the South. Here, you’ll know your neighbors, not just those on your block, but the ones who live all over our historic district. That’s because Springfield is a very sociable place.

No matter what your interests are, you will find a group of people with similar tastes: the Springfield Improvement Association and Woman’s Club, the Garden Club, Springfield Mommies’ Group, the Springfield Area Merchants and Business Association (SAMBA), Springfield Animal Care and Rescue Club (SACARC) – are just some of the groups. Combine that friendliness with easy commutes, walkable and bikeable streets, shady parks, eclectic nightlife and restaurants, as well as our beautiful period homes, and Springfield has truly become a livable, sustainable community. It is the place to live.

Admittedly, we’ve been through some rough patches over the years. Yes, there’s still work to be done, but the scale has tipped in our favor. That’s part of the fun. We are invested here, and we are on our way.  That is just one of the reasons why Southern Living Magazine named Springfield “The South’s Best Comeback Neighborhood”.

So come enjoy our beautiful homes and gardens. Relax and enjoy food and drink at or restaurants, stroll around our tree-shaded streets. Should you start thinking about staking your own claim here, there will never be a better time than now. Prices are affordable. And we’d love to meet some new friends.
